*J.P. SAUER & SOHN DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 16 ga. SN 254058. Fine boxlock dbl with 27-1/2” bbls, raised concave matted rib with single bead, choked FULL/XTRA FULL. The receiver has fine, light arabesque pattern engraving on both sides and over the top and a retrieving bird dog on the bottom. It has side clips, cocked indicators, Greener crossbolt, ejectors & dbl triggers. It has nicely figured walnut wood with checkered splinter schnable tip forearm and pistol grip stock with cheek piece, 14-1/4” over an original black hard rubber buttplate. It has sling swivels on the stock & bbls. Weight 6 lbs. 5.9 oz. Drop at the heel 2-1/2”, at the comb 1-5/8”. It has 2-5/8” chambers. Accompanied by a green canvas take down case with leather trim. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbls retain 95-97% original blue, thin over the chambers with light muzzle & edge wear. Receiver retains 50-60% light faded case colors, bright in the sheltered areas with the balance turned silver. Wood is sound with light handling & use marks and has been cleaned. Bright shiny bores. Case is fine, faded but sound, the leather is worn and flexed but intact and the lining is slightly soiled. 4-51315 JR906 (1,250-1,750)
