SPECTACULAR PAIR OF SOUTH AMERICAN GAUCHO SPURS. Beautiful German silver spurs with 6-1/4” yokes, with raised flowers & leaves at each end with a large flower blossom where shank meets yoke. Shanks are heavy, cast filigree flowers & leaves with 3” diameter, 16-point, filigree iron rowels. Yokes are engraved on both sides with flowers & leaves. No maker’s name was observed inside or outside. Strap slots at ends of yokes have remnants of narrow, hand stitched straps. CONDITION: Very fine to extremely fine. The German silver retains a fine, aged patina and the rowels a dark brown patina. Altogether a very beautiful set. 4-30000 JR394 (1,500-3,000)
