*MERIDEN FIREARMS CO. DBL BBL SHOTGUN, 2-BBL SET. Cal. 12 ga. SN 67700. Fine graded shotgun with sidelocks, DBL triggers & extractors, fitted with 32” steel bbls with raised matted rib, marked with the maker’s name & address, choked FULL/FULL and a pair of 28” chain damascus bbls with raised matted rib, choked FULL/IC. The receiver & lockplates are very nicely engraved with about 30% coverage damascus patterns with the vignettes of two guinea fowl on the left lockplate and two ducks on the right. It has very beautifully grained American walnut with extensively checkered splinter forearm and semi-pistol grip stock, 14” over a serrated horn buttplate. Weight 7 lbs. 12.3 oz. Drop at heel 3”, drop at comb 1-5/8”. CONDITION: Steel bbls retain about 95% strong original blue, dull over the forearm area with brilliant shiny bores. Damascus bbls retain 85-90% beautiful blue/gray chain pattern, bright shiny bores and a few scratches in the right side. Receiver & lockplates retain 15-20% faded case colors with the balance turned silver, the trigger guard has been reblued. Wood is sound and retains most of a professionally restored finish.
