D. MICHAEL MCCARTHY (American, 1951-) “TWILIGHT ON BELLE FOURCHE”. Large oil on canvas western panoramic scene shows a river winding toward a tall butte with other tree covered hills. The river has cut away sand and grass banks with grass fields and groves of trees. A figure is seen atop one of the banks and a large bird flies over the water. Signed lower right and dated “1981”. Housed in a gilt gesso decorated frame with linen and gold liner. SIZE: 30″ x 48″. PROVENANCE: Estate of Henry A. Rudkin Jr, (family of the founders of Pepperidge Farm).
