TWO WEDGWOOD CANDLESTICK LAMPS. Early and mid-20th century. The first jasper example with white ornamentation and of columnar form, with spiral twist bellflower overlay on a stepped plinth with Anthemion leaves. The second black basalt with reeded and swelled standard, the circular base cast with scrolling grapevines. Each with impressed “WEDGWOOD” mark, the basalt lamp also with impressed mark “MADE IN ENGLAND”. SIZE: Each 20″ overall h. PROVENANCE: From an East Sangerville, Maine private collection. By descent from the late Stephen Fay of Brooklyn Heights, New York, to the present owner, a grand-daughter. CONDITION: Both in very good condition. 9-94965 (200-400)
