*RARE ITHACA GRADE 7E DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 ga. SN 454052. NID Model with 32″ bbls choked FULL/FULL with matted ventilated rib, dbl ivory beads, crossbolt rib extension, ejectors & Ithaca sgl selective trigger. Bbls have “ITHACA GUN CO.” engraved on right bbl & “ITHACA, N.Y. U.S.A.” on left bbl. Receiver has full coverage, large, foliate engraved patterns with fine stippled background. Left side has yellow/gold & rose/gold flying ducks with a gold corn stalk on left side, yellow/gold & rose/gold pheasants on right side, and a gold elk head on trigger bow & Ithaca’s rose/gold spread winged American eagle on bottom with “MADE IN USA” in a ribbon below eagle. Receiver has cocked indicators. Engraving patterns extend about 1-1/2″ over chambers. Mounted with replacement, presentation grade, feather crotch cut American walnut with large fleur-de-lis carved & checkered beavertail forearm with fleur-de-lis carved & checkered pistol grip buttstock with carved & checkered raise side panels, 14-1/4″ over a solid red pad. There are incised carved patterns behind grip & a blank gold initial shield on bottom. Drop at heel: 1-3/4″, drop at comb: 1-1/4″. Bore restrictions: left – .035, right – .035. Wall thickness: left – .036, right – .035. Bore diameter: left – .695, right – .697. Weight: 8 lbs. 14.4 oz. Included is aletter from Walter Snyder, historian for Ithaca Gun Co, in which he states “Your NID 7E, serial number 454052, is listed as having a 32 inch barrel, 12 gauge with “all extras”. It was originally shipped to VonLengerke & Antoine on 7/23/29 and later reshipped to P. B. Beleart,, a West Coast dealer”. CONDITION: Very fine, replaced wood as noted. Bbls retain about all of a fine restored blue & receiver most of its orig strong case colors, brilliant in sheltered areas. Wood is sound with minor nicks & scratches & some heat crazing on comb & left side. Mechanics are fine, bright shiny bore. 4-57917 JR353 (10,000-15,000)
