*MAUSER TYPE A SPORTER WITH 98 KURTZ ACTION. SN 86707. Cal. 358 WIN. 22″ octagon bbl, full matted rib with integral ramp, fine ivory bead front sight with hood, and three leaf rear. Bbl is marked “Waffenfabrik Mauser A.-G. Oberndorf AM Neckar.” Rear sight has standing 100 yd marked blade with flip up 200 yd and 300 yd marked blade. Left flat in chamber area is marked with electric pencil “358 WIN”. The 98 receiver is marked on left side with serial number and “8,0 K.P Waffenfabrik Mauser-Orberndorf”. Front receiver ring is stippled with base for front claw mount, rear bridge is checkered and fabricated with rear base for claw mount scope. Top of scope turret is marked “Oigee Berlin” with left side of turret base marked “GNOM 4X”. Lever release, floorplate, double set triggers, and two position safety. Mounted in straight grain walnut with schnable tip forend, checkered foregrip, checkered pistol grip with steel grip cap, straight comb, tiny left side cheekpiece, silver recoil pad, and sling swivels with leather 3/4″ sling. PROVENANCE: Dr. Frank Miller Estate Collection. CONDITION: Very fine. All metal surfaces retain a fine commercial restored blue. Wood is sound with only a few minor light handling marks and retains nearly all of its fine hand rubbed oil finish. Scope is clear with post reticle.
