EMILE ALBERT GRUPPE (American, 1896-1978) “CLOUDS OVER VERMONT”. An early oil on canvas scene with low Vermont hills with bright colored red maple tree. Landscape is minimized by the expanse of sky portrayed with billowing gray and white clouds and shades of blue sky. A wonderful example of Gruppe’s early work. Signed lower left. Housed in what appears to be its original bronze colored gilt hand carved wood frame. NOTE: Listed in the North Shore Retrospective on Emile Gruppe. SIZE: 20-1/2” x 24”.
