SYRACUSE LEFEVER CE GRADE DBL BBL DAMASCUS SHOTGUN. Cal. 12ga SN 49539C. Beautiful and scarce Dan Lefever with 30” very fine Damascus bbls choked FULL/IMP MOD. It has a raised, tapered, matted rib with single bead. There are slight reinforcements below the chambers and has single lump with dolls-head extension. It is fitted with fine American or English walnut with checkered splinter forearm and straight stock 13-7/8” over an original Lefever hard rubber butt plate. It has raised teardrop side panels, ejectors, and double triggers. The receiver and lockplates are beautifully engraved with vignettes of two pointers on the left lockplate, two setters on the right, and two ducks on the trigger bow surrounded by light arabesque and geometric patterns. The lockplates are engraved “LEFEVER / ARMS CO”. It has gold-plated triggers and cocked indicators. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbls retain 75-80% fine light brown Damascus pattern with wear over the carry point and over the forearm and a couple of small nicks on the outside. Receiver retains 80-90% strong original muted case colors with the balance turned silver. Lockplates retain about 95% strong muted case colors, about half are brilliant. Wood is sound with minor handling and use marks and retains most of what appears to be its original fine finish with minor handling and use marks. It may be a very old factory restoration.
