PAIR OF AMERICAN FOLK ART CARVED AND POLYCHROME-PAINTED FIGURES IN FORMAL ATTIRE OF MANDRAKE THE MAGICIAN AND HIS WIFE. Early 20th Century The female figure attired in a sequined evening gown, pearl necklace and bracelet with long curly brown hair. The male attired in white tie and tails with black hair and moustache, holding a silver-capped walking stick. Both figures carved from the solid with articulated arms; the female with swiveling head. Each mounted on an oval plinth. NOTE: Included in the lot is a comic book showing the character portrayed “Mandrake the Magician”. SIZE: 41” overall h. CONDITION: Female figure structurally very good with minor losses to stage makeup, clothing in fair condition.
