*RARE BROWNING P-4 SUPERPOSED SHOTGUN. SN P73RR1593. Cal. 28 ga. 26-1/2″ bbls, matted vent rib with sgl silver sighting bead, IMP CYL/MOD chokes, sgl selective trigger and ejectors. Left side bbl marked “BROWNING ARMS COMPANY MORGAN, UTAH & MONTREAL P.Q./MADE IN BELGIUM” and right side “BROWNING SUPERPOSED/SPECIAL STEEL 28 GA. SHELLS – 2-3/4″/BROWNING PATENTS”. Sideplated receiver is engraved with bold foliate scrolls with shaded background with gold pheasants on left plate, gold ducks on right, gold quail in flight on bottom and gold pointer’s head on bow of long tang trigger guard. Left plate is signed “C. BAERTEN” and below it on left side of frame is signed “JEAN H. DIET”. Mounted with highly figured marblely dark walnut, checkered flat mount pistol grip, Browning hard rubber buttplate, and checkered field style forend. Bore diameter: top – .545, bottom – .547. Bore restrictions: top – .011, bottom – .008. Wall thickness: top – .038, bottom – .042. Drop at heel: 1-3/4″, drop at comb: 1-1/2″. Weight: 6 lbs. 9 oz. LOP 14-1/4″. Gun is accompanied with its orig black cardboard box with gold lettering and orig end label fully identifying gun. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Bbls retain 98-99% orig blue with a few minor handling marks and rub mark from forend. Receiver is clean, crisp and bright. Stock is sound with sharp checkering, a few minor handling marks and a fine polished hand-rubbed oil finish. Forend is sound with sharp checkering, a couple minor flattened points, a few minor handling marks, retains orig finish.
