*RARE REMINGTON GRADE 6 AUTO LOADING SHOTGUN. SN 98600. Cal. 12 ga. 28″ bbl, with matted solid rib, sgl silver sighting bead, FULL/ choke, chamber end of bbl has 5″ wedge of scroll engraving on right side, 2-1/2″ wedge on left and an engraved banner marked “MANUFACTURED BY THE REMINGTON ARMS CO. ILION, N.Y.U.S.A./BROWNINGS PATENTS OCT.8.1900.DEC.17.01. SEPT.30.02.JUNE18.02.”, with “FULL” engraved below it. The magazine cap top is engraved with circular scroll in center and a geometric design around it with punch-dots. The side of cap have to knurled rings and a ring of stylized engraved stars. The receiver is beautifully engraved with bold foliate scroll with stippled background and 6 panel scenes consisting on left side of a snipe, a pointer and setter on point and 2 quail. Right side has a ruff grouse in flight, 2 ducks in flight and 2 snipe, one flying and one feeding.Trigger guard is like engraved with the head of a hunting dog. Back of receiver and top tang are fully engraved with bold foliate scroll and shaded background. Mounted with nicely figured walnut, multi-point checkered round knob pistol grip, serrated hard rubber buttplate, marked “REMINGTON ARMS CO”, fluted forend with multi-point elaborate checkering pattern. Stock has a blank gold oval. Bore diameter: .728. Bore restrictions: .027. Wall thickness: .061. Drop at heel: 3-1/8″, drop at comb: 1-3/4″. Weight: 8lbs. 4oz. LOP 13-5/8″. Inspection of bbl reveals matching SN stamped on lug of bbl ring. There is an engraved “6” on bottom of bbl in chamber area identifying as a grade 6 gun. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbl retains 97-98% orig blue with some minor thinning at muzzle, usual thinning on bottom of bbl from forend and a thumbprint size area of surface oxidation below forend line. Receiver retains 97-98% orig blue with some minor thinning showing at sharp edges. Lower tang shows some minor thinning in the grip area. Stock is sound with a hairline crack at receiver on left side, some minor nicks & scratches and a small amount of flaked finish in rear portion. Checkering is good with a couple minor flattened points and retaining orig finish. Forend is sound with good checkering a few minor nicks & dings and retains orig finish. Mechanics are crisp with a nice shiny bore as gun appears to have seen very little use. 4-39140 BDT19 (4,500-7,500)
