*RARE CASED WINCHESTER MODEL 21 GRAND AMERICAN 2-BBL SET. Cal. 20 ga. SN 31067. Built on a small, flat-side frame with two sets of 28″ bbls, one choked FULL/MOD and the other MOD/IMP-CYL. Both have tapered concave matted ribs with dbl silver beads marked near the chamber end “CUSTOM BUILT BY WINCHESTER”. They have ejectors & gold-plated sgl selective trigger. Receiver is engraved in typical Grand American pattern with a gold setter on left side, a gold pointer on right side, two gold pheasants on floorplate & a gold spaniel’s head on trigger bow, all surrounded by full coverage, very fine, foliate, arabesque patterns. Fences have deep relief oak leaf & acorn patterns. Top tang has “SAFE” in gold and trigger plate has “L” and “R” in gold with gold arrows. Forend iron, opening lever & trigger guard are engraved to match. Engraving extends 2-3/4″ over chamber areas on both sets of bbls. Mounted with exhibition quality, center crotch cut, flame grain, American walnut with “21-B” style carved beavertail forearm with black insert & straight stock, 14-1/2″ over a checkered butt. There is a blank gold oval on bottom. Accompanied by a Galazan oak & leather red felt lined trunk case compartmented for all the parts including gold plated snap caps & square oil bottle. Accompanied by a Cody Firearms Museum letter listing it as skeet grade with one set of 28 ga. 26″ bbls choked WS1/WS2 with matted rib, fancy wood, steel grip cap & deluxe checkering. Second set of bbls & engraving is not mentioned. Drop at heel: 2-1/8″, drop at comb: 1-3/8″. Bore restrictions: FULL/MOD bbls: left – .023, right – .017; MOD/IMP-CYL bbls: left – .009, right – .008. Wall thickness: FULL/MOD bbls: left – .019, right – .019; MOD/IMP-CYL bbls: left – .011, right – .020. Bore diameter: FULL/MOD bbls: left – .591, right – .599; MOD/IMP-CYL bbls: left – .612, right – .612. Weight: 6 lbs. 2.88 oz. CONDITION: Very fine plus. Retains virtually all of an extremely fine, probably factory, professionally restored finish to both metal & wood. One must look closely to determine the restored finish, it is so well done. Bbls, receiver & trigger guard retain virtually all of this fine professional finish. Wood is sound with very minor storage & handling marks & retains all of this fine professional finish.
