TWO GERMAN BISQUE DOLLS. 1) 13-1/2″ Swain & Co. Character baby. Desirable character baby with head incised “D.I.P.5” and also a green stamp reading “S&Co Geschutzt Germany”. He has blue glass sleep eyes with open/closed mouth with no teeth and is on original five piece bent limb composition body and wearing an antique blonde mohair wig, white and blue knit romper suit with crochet booties and a crocheted hat that also covers the ears. 2) 8-1/2″ Asian child with slightly tinted bisque and incised on back of head “SPBH” within a star with open mouth and two upper teeth, fixed brown glass eyes in almond shaped eye sockets, fly away winged eyebrows on the original five piece composition body with molded and painted blue shoes. Simple costume is most likely original as is the black mohair wig with queue in back. SIZE: 13-1/2″ h (34cm) & 8-1/2″ (21.5cm) respectively. CONDITION: Good, however hairline crack on front of neck socket and slight repaint to several finger tips on Swain baby. Oriental doll is very good. 1-9303, 1-9312 (500-700)
