A.H. FOX TOY DBL BARREL SHOTGUN. Made of sheet metal with 16″ bbls with integral front bead and screwed-on metal forearm. It is mounted with a slab wooden stock, sheet metal triggers and trigger guard. The receiver has a tiny opening lever on top and when opened exposes two orig spring loaded cartridges that when cocked using the lower tang of the trigger guard, could be loaded with cork balls and fired like a real shotgun. The bottom of the receiver is stamped “A.H. FOX GUN CO. / PHILA. PA. U.S.A. / PATS PEND ON GUN / AND SHELL”. An orig giant advertising sign for this toy is being sold separately in this auction. CONDITION: Good to very good. Bbls retain about 60% orig black paint with the balance a dark patina. Receiver and forearm retain about 80% orig blue mixed with light surface rust. Stock has a couple of hairlines in the right side at the receiver, otherwise the wood is sound, a little loose in the frame, and retains 75-80% crackled orig varnish. One of the shells will cock and function, the other one needs repair. A seldom encountered toy gun in respectable condition. 4-57482 JR496 (400-700)
