*BROWNING MIDAS GRADE TWO-BARREL SET. Cal. 20 ga. SN 6041V75. Spectacular Midas Grade set with 26-3/8” vent rib bbls, dbl ivory beads, choked SKEET/SKEET. The front bead is broken. The 2nd set has 28” vent rib bbls with dbl ivory beads, choked FULL/MOD. The receiver has full coverage engraving with game scenes on each side of three flying gold pheasants on the left and three flying gold mallards on the right and a flying gold quail on the bottom. Both of the side vignettes are surrounded with elliptical shaped gold wire. The left vignette is signed “M. Bodson” in the lower right side. The rest of the receiver has full coverage intertwined foliate ararbesque pattern engraving with very fine punch dot background and is signed “G. Marechal” at the lower left edge. It has gold floor plate pin & trigger and the top tang has “S” “U” and “O” inlaid in gold. The bbls have ejectors and it is fitted with single selective trigger. The wood is spectacular; center crotch cut walnut with two long tapered forearms and pistol grip stock, 14-5/8” over a rare checkered butt. The forearms, pistol grip & butt all have spectacular skip line checkering and the grip has a rosewood cap with gold diamond, all contained in their round cornered Browning case. Weight 6 lbs. 7.8 oz. A check with Browning records shows that this gun shipped with rosewood grip cap, skip-line checkering, and checkered butt. A very rare, special order gun. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Has been fired, but remains as new, retaining virtually all its original factory finish to both metal & wood. Case has a nick, otherwise is fine.
