SEVERIN ROESEN (American, 1815-1872) STILL LIFE OF FRUIT WITH COMPOTE OF STRAWBERRIES. Outstanding oil on wood panel scene shows a reticulated porcelain compote filled with luscious strawberries surrounded by other fruit including grapes, lemon, apples and plums. All resting on a marble slab. Signed middle bottom right. Housed in an old gilt carved wood frame. NOTE: Accompanying painting is a letter regarding the authenticity from Judith Hansen O’Toole regarding this painting. SIZE: 11-3/4” x 16”.
