Both bbls marked on left side “MODEL 97 – WINCHESTER / TRADEMARK – 12GA. FULL”. Right side marked “MADE IN U.S.A. WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN, CONN. / PAT. NOV. 25. 90. DEC. 6. 92. JULY. 21. 96. FEB. 22. 98. JUNE. 14. 98. OCT. 16. 1900. DEC. 25. 06. JULY. 5. 10.” WP proof marks can be found on left side of matting on bbl and receiver. Bolt is stamped “TRAP GUN”. Mounted with nicely figured flame-grain walnut, ebony black diamond inlay on each side of wrist, checkered pistol grip, Winchester hard rubber grip cap, solid red Winchester recoil pad, multi-point wrap-around checkered forends. Bore measurements: 28″ set: Diameter: .730, Restriction: .032, Wall thickness: .068, Drop at heel: 2-1/4″, Drop at comb: 1-3/4″, Weight: 8lbs. 5oz., LOP 14-1/8″. 32″ set: Diameter: .730, Restriction: .035, Wall thickness: .068, Drop at heel: 2-1/4″, Drop at comb: 1-3/4″, Weight: 8lbs. 10oz., LOP 14-1/8″. Bbls and receiver all have matching numbers. CONDITION: Fine. 32″ bbl retains 97-98% orig blue with some minor nicks & dings, rub mark on bottom from mag tube. 28″ bbl shows 85-90% thinning orig blue with muzzle wear, minor nicks, dings & small scratches, rub mark on bottom from mag tube. Receiver retains 90-95% orig blue, silvering on sharp edges, a few spots of fine surface oxidation on top and lightly thinning across bottom. Stock is sound with nice checkering, normal nicks & dings retaining a factory high-gloss finish with hand-worn patina in grip area. Forends are sound with normal nicks & dings, factory high-gloss finish, very nice on 32″ and blending with hand-worn patina on 28″.
