*WONDERFUL CONNECTICUT SHOTGUN CO. FOX XE GRADE DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 28 ga. SN F205731. Spectacular dainty modern made Fox with 27″ Chromox fluid steel bbls choked SKEET 1/IMP-CYL with tapered concave matted rib with dbl ivory beads, cross bolt rib extension with ejectors & dbl triggers. Receiver is wonderfully deep chisel engraved and signed by Galazan’s master engraver, Jim Demunck, with full coverage consisting of vignettes of two flying quail on left side, two flying partridge on right side, two gold dog’s heads on trigger plate, a large raised gold partridge on front bottom & a gold quail on trigger bow. There is also a gold woodcock on opening lever pivot along with narrow gold bands at chamber end of each bbl & a medium gold band on rib. Engraving extends 1-3/4″ up bbls & on rib extension. Opening lever, top tang, trigger guard, forend iron & heel & toe plates are engraved to match. Back edges of receiver are triple scalloped & there is a raised rib around each fence. Mounted with extremely beautiful, highly figured, Circassian walnut with checkered & ribbon carved small beavertail forearm & straight stock with checkered raised side panels, 14-1/4″ over a checkered butt with heel & toe plates. Grade “XE Special” is engraved on water table, bbl flat & forend iron. Accompanied by a letter from Connecticut Shotgun Company fully identifying this shotgun wherein Mr. Galazan states that he personally oversaw the building of this shotgun for a personal friend & that it more accurately should be an exhibition grade. Also accompanying is a copy of the orig order form. Drop at the heel: 2-1/2″, drop at the comb: 1-3/8″. Bore restrictions: left – .0125, right – 009. Unable to gage wall thickness. Bore diameter: left – .547, right – .551. Weight: 5 lbs. 6.4 oz. CONDITION: Extraordinarily fine. As new, retains virtually all of its orig brilliant factory finish to both metal & wood.
