PRE-WAR JAPANESE LOCKHEED AIRPLANE. The Japanese often emulated German toys with quality as well as such manufacturers as Lehmann, Gunthermann, Stock, etc. This windup airplane depicts the famous Lockheed Sirius and much attention has been paid to detail, being finely lithographed onto the toy. An intricate mechanism involving a series of gears activates propeller for lifelike action. Toy would greatly be enhanced by a light cleaning and polishing to the finish. SIZE: 10″ wingspan. CONDITION: Overall good to very good. Ding on fuselage behind motor. Mechanism in need of lubrication, appears complete and possibly functional. 1-8956 JL (500-1,000)
