*FACTORY ENGRAVED WINCHESTER MODEL 97 BLACK DIAMOND PIGEON GUN TWO BARREL SET. SN 340663. Cal. 12ga, 30″ & 32″ bbls with matted bbl, single sighting bead and FULL choke. Usual bbl markings can be found on each set of bbls, both with matching serial numbers. Receiver is factory-engraved with pigeon shooting scene on left side, right side with hunter and setter retrieving one bird, 3 other birds with one dead, one shot & falling, and one still fleeing. Top center of receiver is matted with rose on either side in front, 4-leaf clover on rear corners, sitting pigeon behind hammer, a chip-dot border and bolt engraved “PIGEON GUN”. Mounted with nicely figured walnut, inlaid black diamond on either side of wrist, checkered round-knob pistol grip and vented red Winchester recoil pad. Both sets of bbls with wrap-around checkered forends. Bore dimensions: 30″ bbl; Diameter: .730. Restriction: .031. Wall thickness: .046. Drop at heel: 2-7/8″. Drop at comb: 2-1/8″. Weight: 7lbs. 9oz. LOP 12-7/8″. 32″ bbl; Diameter: .727. Restriction: .030. Wall thickness: .068. Drop at heel: 3″, Drop at comb: 2″, Weight: 7lbs. 13oz. LOP 12-7/8″. CONDITION: Fine. 32″ bbl retains 75% orig blue. The right side has a rash suspected to be from gun case that has lifted finish and has turned a brown patina, remainder of bbl has minor nicks & scratches, slight muzzle wear, rub on bottom from take-down. Mag tube has orig blue thinning and silvering from carry and wear. 30″ bbl retains 95% of a factory-quality restored blue finish with some minor nicks & dings, rub mark on bottom from take-down. Receiver retains 95% of a factory-quality restored blue while engraving still remains sharp and clear, as there was probably little to no polish done restoring the blue. Wood is sound with small grain crack on left side from receiver to black diamond inlay. Moderately worn checkering, dark discoloration around receiver, normal nicks & dings, a shallow depression on top of wrist and retains a fine oil finish. Forends are sound with good checkering, a few minor handling marks and retain a restored oil finish. Mechanics are crisp with nice bores in both bbls. 4-40121 BDT91 (6,500-10,000)
