BROKEN JAPANESE YARE POLE ARM. SIZE: Old dbl-edged Yare 21-1/8” blade length. CONDITION: Rust and pitting on the blade with no visible temper line. Only 18” of the shaft remains, 7” down from the base of the Yare there is a parrying or other weapon-breaking device, which was used to parry or break your opponents thrust. Wooden part of shaft was ribbed lacquer with brass fittings. It comes with what looks to be a lacquered Yare Saya, which has a brass tip in fair condition. 4-51044 PQ7 (200-300)
