*WINCHESTER MODEL 42 CUSTOM WITH SIMMONS VENT RIB. SN 15069. Cal. 410. 26″ bbl, FULL choke, 3″ chamber with Simmons vent rib, red bead front with white center. Left side of bbl is marked “WINCHESTER/PROOF STEEL-MODEL 42-WINCHESTER/TRADEMARK-.410-3IN.FULL”, right side “MADE IN U.S.A.WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO./NEW HAVEN, CONN.-PATTENS PENDING”. Left side of rib is marked “SIMMONS GUN SPECIALTIES INC. KANSAS CITY MO”. Standard receiver, serrated top with added rib extension. Mounted with nicely figured walnut, checkered pistol grip, with hard rubber grip cap, Fajen marked hard rubber buttplate, slight Monte Carlo, target style extended forend with checkered side panels. Bore measurements are not available for 410. Drop at heel: 1-1/2″. Drop at comb: 1-1/2″. Weight 6lbs 7oz. LOP 14-3/4″. CONDITION: Very fine as customized. Metal surfaces retain nearly all of their fine custom blue, with side plate of receiver showing a slight tone of purple. Follower and bolt have been nicely custom jeweled. Custom stock has good checkering, some minor handling marks and retains most of its oil finish. Forend is sound with good checkering, a few minor handling marks, and retains most of its custom oil finish.
