*BEAUTIFUL CASED CONNECTICUT SHOTGUN COMPANY FOX MODEL FE DBL BBL SHOTGUN 2-BBL SET. Cal. 20 ga. SN F205622A. Fabulous set with 28″ bbls choked IMP-CYL/WS1 and 30″ bbls choked MOD/IMP-CYL. Both have flat tapered hand-matted ribs with single ivory beads, cross-bolt extensions, ejectors & sgl selective triggers. Both sets of bbls are marked “MADE TO ORDER, A.H. FOX” on right bbls and “KRUPP-FLUID-STEEL” on left bbls. Ribs each have a panel toward rear ends engraved “ANSLEY H. FOX” in gold with the numbers “1” & “2” at the ends with a narrow gold band. Receiver is spectacularly engraved with full coverage, deep relief, foliate, & floral arabesque patterns with three pheasants on left side, three flying ducks on right side and a standing pointer on bottom. All the animals are in beautifully detailed raised gold. Trigger plate has “L” & “R” in gold and top tang has “SAFE” in gold. Each side of receiver has the maker’s name in a ribbon and fences have deep relief oak leaf patterns with a raised rib around back edges. It is mounted with exhibition quality, very highly figured, streaky, Circassian walnut with two full checkered & fleur-de-lis carved beavertail forearms & straight stock with carved & checkered side panels, 14-1/8″ over an engraved checkered skeleton buttplate. Stock has a blank gold initial plate on bottom. Engraving patterns extend about 2″ over chamber areas of bbls, over bbl extension & over all forend iron. Accompanied by orig hang tag, a case label & a copy of orig order dated Aug. 27, 1999 indicating a total purchase price of $32,500.00. It also indicates that engraving was to be executed by their master engraver, Richard Roy. Also accompanied by a dark chocolate brown red felt lined trunk case compartmented for all the parts. Drop at heel: 2-3/8″, drop at comb: 1-5/8″. Bore restrictions: 28″: left – .004, right – .004; 30″: left – .013, right – .007. Wall thickness: 28″: left – .036, right – .031; 30″: left – .032, right – .029. Bore diameter: 28″: left – .599, right – .608; 30″: left – .597., right – .605. Weight with 28″ bbls: 5 lbs. 11.2 oz. CONDITION: As new. Appears to be unfired, retains virtually all of its beautiful orig factor finish to both metal & wood. Blue is strong & bright, case colors are brilliant. Wood has one or two minor nicks & retains all of its orig hand rubbed oil finish. Case has a couple of scratches in the lid, otherwise is equally new. 4-55470 JR135 (20,000-30,000)
