TWO GERMAN BISQUE HEAD BABY DOLLS. 1) Incised “D.V. 4” made for Swaine & Co also bearing a green stamp reading “Geschutzt S & Co. Germany”. This expressive baby has closed mouth, blue glass sleep eyes with heavily modeled eyelids, well modeled hair and is on its original five piece composition body. He wears a white cotton baby dress covered by a more elaborate button down dress with wide rim collar. 2) Incised “Germany Century Doll & Co.”. He too has molded hair, blue glass sleep eyes and closed frowning mouth and is on a cloth body with celluloid hands and is dressed in antique white cotton baby clothing. SIZE: Both dolls are 14″ (35cm). CONDITION: Swaine baby has repaired upper left eyelid, Century baby is very good to excellent. 1-8396, 1-8397 RS (600-900)
