SMITH & WESSON FIRST MODEL RUSSIAN SINGLE ACTION REVOLVER. Cal. 44 Russian. SN 20141. Blue finish with 8” keyhole bbl, altered half moon front sight with 2-pc smooth walnut grips that are numbered “23811”. Accompanied by an early tooled military style flap holster with iron stud, missing plug. CONDITION: Good to very good. Overall retains about 50% thin orig blue, strong in sheltered areas, turned to light patina elsewhere with some scattered fine pitting. Grips, while not numbered to this revolver, fit very well, show moderate wear with nicks & scratches. Mechanics are fine. Latch is a little stiff but functional. Strong bright bore with light pitting. Holster is dry & crackled with some deterioration around stud hole and is missing two rivets from sewn edge. Baldwin Collection 4-30025 (4,000-7,000)
