*FIRST YEAR PRODUCTION WINCHESTER MODEL 12 SOLID RIB SKEET. SN 747751. Cal. 28ga, 26″ bbl matted, solid rib, with red Bradley front and silver center sighting beads, SKEET choke, 2-7/8″ chamber. Left side of bbl is marked “WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL – MADE IN U.S.A. / WINCHESTER / TRADEMARK – 2-7/8 CHAM. / MODEL 12 – 28GA. – SKEET”. Right side “MADE IN U.S.A WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN, CONN. PAT. JULY 21. 1896 / FEB. 22. JUNE 14. 1898 SEPT. 7 909. MAY 17. 24. 31. JUNE 7. 14. 28. JULY 5. 12. 1910. JULY 22 1913”. WP proof marks are found left side of rib and top center of receiver. Receiver is stamped “SKEET” below serial number. Mounted with nicely figured walnut, checkered pistol grip, Winchester hard rubber grip cap, Winchester hard rubber buttplate, skeet forend with checkered side panels and large checkered diamond on bottom. Bore measurements: Diameter: .550, Restriction: .010, Wall thickness: .068, Drop at heel: 2-5/8″, Drop at comb: 1-1/2″, Weight: 7lbs. 4oz., LOP 14″. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Bbl and mag tube retain 99% of the fine orig blue with just a couple minor nicks & dings. Receiver retains 99% orig factory blue, just starting to thin across bottom. Stock is sound with sharp checkering, a few minor handling marks and retains a fine clean, original finish. Forend is sound with sharp checkering, some minor handling marks and retains a fine, clean orig finish. Mechanics are crisp, bright shiny bore as gun appears to have seen very little use. Inspection of rear of receiver reveals “28” stamped below the tang. 4-40571 BDT122 (7,000-10,000)
