PIERRE EUGENE LACOSTE (French, 1818-1908) WOMAN STROLLING A SEASIDE GARDEN. Outstanding oil on canvas summer scene shows a young woman in white summer dress with blue ribbon and fancy hat strolling on a dirt path passing a park bench with round table where someone has placed their hat. The path curves around a garden area with colorful flowers flanked by trees & bushes having an opening looking out onto water with two sailboats. Signed lower left “Eugene Lacoste”. Above the artist name is “A. Madame Bodin”. Housed in a fancy wide gesso decorated gilt frame with losses. SIZE: 18″ x 24″. CONDITION: Some minor inpainting, very good. 9-24972 (6,000-8,000)
