J GREENEBAUM (American, Late 19th Century) THE SHEPHERDESS. Oil on canvas mounted to board landscape scene shows a woman in black coat and red headscarf tending to a small flock of sheep in a meadow filled with grass and flowers. A small stream and trees is beyond under blue and white cloud sky. Signed lower right “J Greenebaum Paris, 95″. Possibly the work of Joseph David Greenbaum (American, 1864-1940). Housed in a modern gilt gesso decorated frame with gilt liner. SIZE: 21″ x 29-1/4”. CONDITION: Very good with only spot inpainting. 9-96821 (1,000-1,500)
