CARVED ORIENTAL MARBLE TOP FERN STAND. Second half 19th century. The octagonal breschia marble insert within a conforming surround, the edges with a Greek key design above a conforming frieze pierce carved with flower heads, raised on four cabriole legs headed by mythical dragon busts and scrolling vinery with joined pierce carved scrolling returns. The legs joined by S-scrolled stretchers all supporting a central carved finial. SIZE: 35″ h x 19″ dia. PROVENANCE: From an Ellsworth, Maine Estate. CONDITION: Very good overall with original surfaces. Minor and minimal roughness to feet. Overall very good. 9-21951 (400-600)
