MERWIN, HULBERT & CO. LARGE FRAME OPEN TOP REVOLVER. Cal. 44/40. SN 2777. 3-1/4” rnd bbl. Assembly number 3038 matches on bbl, cyl and frame under grip. Marked “MERWIN, HULBERT & CO. N.Y. / POCKET ARMY” on right side of frame with Hopkins & Allen address and patent dates on left side of bbl. “CALIBRE / WINCHESTER / 1873” is stamped on left side of frame. CONDITION: 40% nickel mixed with brown patina and light surface rust overall. Right grip panel is missing a large chip at rear; both are worn at the high spots.
