LARGE COPPER WATER KETTLE. 19th century. Of melon form with conforming lid having mushroom knopp finial and incised petal decoration, the copper-clad handle, leather-wrapped, riveted and pivoting on side brackets, the shaped spout with hinged stopper. Origins possibly Near or Middle Eastern. SIZE: 10″ h. x 12″ pot dia. PROVENANCE: From an East Sangerville, Maine private collection. Acquired in Central Maine in the 1960’s by the present owners parents. CONDITION: Very good overall. Spout with rivets, normal wear to handle, good patina. 9-94954 (200-400)
