LARGE BUGLER FIGURE AUTOMATON. This fantastic Shakespearean-looking automaton may have been used in a large department store such as Macy’s or FAO Schwartz at one time. This gentleman with bugle is mounted on a large wooden box. He is electrified and is really unusual. The bugler’s belly and back open, possibly to hold a clock, like his counterpart. Composition head. When plugged in his motor makes a noise but he doesn’t seem to respond. He probably needs to have some work done. SIZE: Approx. 6’8″ t. CONDITION: Mannequin seems to be in generally good condition. Uniform is still intact and in basically good condition but soiled. One can see some parts inside but it is difficult to determine whether it just needs some adjustments or a major overhaul. This will add a great deal of flavor to anyone’s collection. 1-27673 (1,500-2,500)
