SCARCE EARLY MERWIN & HULBERT ARMY REVOLVER. Cal. 44 M&H. SN 3482. Nickel finish with 7” rnd bbl, integral half moon front sight, early frame with open top and scooped flute cyl. It has square butt with a lanyard ring and has 2-pc checkered hard rubber grips with matching serial number scratched inside right grip. One of only a few thousand of these revolvers built in period 1876-1880. Left side of bbl has the Hopkins & Allen marking with the Merwin & Hulbert patent markings on top. CONDITION: Extremely fine, as new, possibly unfired, all matching including grips. Retains virtually all of its strong orig nickel finish with a few minor scratches & handling marks with some slight dulling from handling. Hammer retains about 90% strong case colors and the triggerguard about 50% bright colors with balance fading to silver. Triggerguard retains most of its orig blue, slightly faded on front. Grips are crisp, showing light diamond point wear, having turned chocolate. Mechanics are crisp, bright shiny bore. 4-30603 JR301 (10,000-15,000)
