*RARE CASED SMITH & WESSON STRAIGHT LINE SINGLE SHOT TARGET PISTOL. SN 1117. Cal. 22 LR. Wonderful single shot target pistol with 10″ keyhole shaped bbl, partridge front sight & adjustable rear sight. Fitted with smooth S&W medallion grips. Bbl has usual markings with the S&W trademark on left rear side of frame. This most unusual target pistol was only made in 1925-1936 in a total quantity of 1,870. Accompanied by its rare orig blued steel case with green felt lining in bottom, compartmented for pistol, a screwdriver, a gutta percha handled cleaning rod & cleaning rod extension. Rarely are these fine pistols encountered as a complete set as this one is. CONDITION: Extraordinarily fine, as new, appears to be unfired. Retains virtually all of its orig bright factory blue with no discernible flaws. Grips have a few tiny scattered creases in the varnish & retain 98% of their orig varnish. Mechanics are crisp, brilliant shiny bore. Metal case & accessories are equally pristine new with no stain in the green felt lining. 4-35618 JR291 (2,500-3,500)
