PAIR OF MASSACHUSETTS SHERATON CARVED MAHOGANY PENCIL-POST CANOPY BEDS. First third 19th century. Each fitted with custom arched frame covered with a red-on-ivory toile fabric, joined to the pencil-post head and foot boards, the octagonal faceted head posts centering a shaped panel, the foot with swelled reeded urn-turned posts. Each fitted with stamped brass bolt plates. SIZE: Overall: 85″ h. x 36″ w. x 73-3/4″ x 79-1/4″ l. CONDITION: These beds were made to accommodate a 36″ x 73-1/2″ custom box spring and mattress.
