ARTHUR BOWEN DAVIES (American, 1862-1928) “HALF DOME FROM GLACIER POINT, YOSEMITE, CALIFORNIA”. Unsigned oil on wood panel shows high peak amongst other peaks. Titled on back. Housed in a fine modern gesso decorated gilt frame. We have been told that these four Davies paintings were done during a 1905 trip to California. PROVENANCE: The Donelson Farquhar Hoopes Estate, Steuben, Maine. SIZE: 5-1/4” x 9-1/2”. CONDITION: Warped panel, a crack in bottom left. 9-70708 (1,000-3,000)
