ENGRAVED EARLY MERWIN & HULBERT SINGLE ACTION ARMY REVOLVER. Cal. 44 M&H. SN 4136. Early model without top strap and with scooped flutes in cyl. Nickel finish with 7” rnd bbl, integral cyl pin housing with square butt & lanyard ring. Fitted with very early, deep relief carved, Mexican eagle, pearl grips and has the inscription “Toribio Corbala” on backstrap. Frame, bbl & cyl are very nicely, factory engraved with a Mexican eagle holding a snake, sitting on a cactus on the left side and a dog’s head on right side. All surrounded with typical factory foliate, leaf & vine engraving. Engraving patterns cover entire outside surface of cyl except for the flutes and extends up over bbl on both sides and at muzzle. Accompanied by a very beautiful, double loop, tan leather holster with basket weave carving on outside, eight nice silver rosettes around rear edge and three silver bar rectangular plates with Indian decorations. CONDITION: Fine plus, all matching except grips which are unnumbered. Overall retains 75-80% strong, orig nickel with wear on left side of bbl and on grip frame with a few spots of scattered rust. Front sight has been slightly altered. Grips have slightly chipped toes & heels, otherwise are fine with beautiful fire and lots of color with a couple of small age lines on right side. Mechanics are fine, worn bore. Holster is fine. 4-30066 JR131 (7,500-12,500)
