*FINE CASED UPGRADED PARKER A1 SPECIAL DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 28 ga. SN 236336. This fine little shotgun began life as a VHE grade and has been very skillfully & wonderfully upgraded to A1 Special configuration. It is built on an “OO” frame with 28″ bbls choked MOD/IMP-CYL with tapered concave matted rib, dbl ivory beads with rib re-rolled “PEERLESS STEEL”. It has doll’s head extension with ejectors & gold plated sgl trigger. Receiver has full coverage very fine Parker style engraving consisting of large vignettes of flowers on both sides & floorplate, a raised rib around the step in side of receiver & two raised ribs in back of each fence. Opening lever has a fluted shank & it, top tang, trigger guard, forend iron, about 3″ over the chamber areas and 1-3/4″ at muzzle are engraved to match. Bottom front of receiver has “PARKER BROS” in raised gold. Top tang has “S” in gold & bottom tang has serial number in raised gold. Water table has lightning cuts. Mounted with very beautiful, highly figured replacement American walnut with full checkered & carved splinter forearm & straight stock with raised checkered fleur-de-lis carved side panels, 14″ over an engraved skeleton buttplate with checkered center. Bottom of stock has a gold initial plate engraved “S.G.” Accompanied by a Galazan style leather maroon felt lined trunk case with salmon color canvas & leather cover that contains snap caps, an oil bottle, a 2-pc ebony cleaning rod & tools. Also accompanied by a Del Grego 2-pc cardboard box. Drop at heel: 2-1/2″, drop at comb: 1-1/2″. Bore restrictions: left – .020, right – .005. Unable to gage wall thickness. Bore diameter: left – .539, right – .550. Weight: 6 lbs. 2.24 oz. CONDITION: Very fine plus. Retains virtually all of its fine Del Grego style restored finish to both metal & wood. Bbls & trigger guard retain bright rust blue with receiver & forend iron brilliant cyanide case colors. Mechanics are fine, brilliant shiny bores.
