UNSIGNED (American, 19th/20th Century) THE SHARECROPPERS LIFE. Oil on canvas southern cotton plantation scene shows a group of black sharecroppers around their cabin. One man is seated on a mule next to a woman with large basket of cotton. Others are outside the house and the dirt ground has chickens, dog and cook fire. Housed in a gesso decorated gilt antique frame. SIZE: 14″ x 22″. PROVENANCE: From a large Boston, MA area Estate. CONDITION: Craquelure with some lifting in sky, surface dirt. 9-99347 (500-1,000)
