TOM MIX PRESENTATION GOLD POCKET WATCH. Fine 14K hunter case Waltham P.S. Bartlett 17-jewel, 18 size pocket watch. SN 2505394. The back cover is beautifully engraved with a horse’s head surrounded by geometric and foliate arabesque patterns. The front cover is engraved in the center in period script and block letters “PRESENTED TO / TOM MIX / J.C.-Z.T. – C.L. / MILLER BROS 101 RANCH / WILD WEST SHOWS / PONCA CITY / OKLAHOMA”. This inscription is surrounded by matching engraving to the back cover. The dial has Roman numerals with the watch company name. The inside back cover is missing. Accompanied by a fine, heavy gold watch chain with a King of Hearts fob. Tom Mix, in his movie advertising, called himself “The Cowboy King of Hearts.” The initials that are on the front cover in the presentation are the initials of the three Miller Brothers who owned the 101 Ranch & Wild West Shows. CONDITION: Very fine, except for the inside back cover. Shows very little wear or handling. Seems to run fine. Chain and fob are equally fine. 4-57769 JR648 (6,000-8,000)
