Please Note: Great News, we have the key (sold with the item), we have tested it and it does work.

LARGE CLOCKWORK NODDER OF BLACK DUDE. This fellow with a papier mache head has extremely well molded facial characteristics such as high cheek bones, arched eyebrows, wide nose, oversized lips and pronounced pointed chin. He almost looks as though he has a scowl. Dressed in period clothing (trousers possibly older replacement), he sports a gray top hat covering his black hair. Obviously these were more likely used as some sort of “trade stimulator” in a store setting, rather than being a toy for a child. Being of German manufacture from the first quarter of the 20th century, these items are highly sought after by collectors of black memorabilia, country store collectors, toys collectors, etc. SIZE: 35″ t. CONDITION: Overall good to very good. Some fading and dustiness to clothing. Papered covered base shows some wear and distress. Clockwork mechanism fully functional. 1-11334 (1,500-2,000)
