LOT OF MISCELLANEOUS TOM MIX PHOTOGRAPHS AND EPHEMERA. This lot consists of several photographs of Mr. Mix, including a small, framed reprint with autograph; a movie promotional photograph of Tom Mix on his horse Tony in a crowd of spectators; a framed reprint or old photograph of Tom Mix in full movie cowboy gear talking to his horse; a 3-1/4″ x 5-1/4″ autographed studio photo of Tom Mix in movie makeup; three 1929 dated Tom Mix cabinet cards, one with him and Tony; a page from Guns Magazine, advertising an article, “The Guns of Tom Mix”; a reprint of a two-page handwritten letter from Tom Mix to Joe Miller of the 101 Ranch dated March 31, ’02, written on hotel stationery from Alberta, Canada; a copy of the 144-page book Tony and His Pals, Chisteson, published in 1938, copyrighted 1934; an envelope from Marlin Firearms picturing the “New Model 100-S Tom Mix Special”; a gold-colored Marlin advertising ring; a Marlin tri-fold advertising the Model 100-S Tom Mix Special and other products; a small dime dreadful titled, Tom Mix and the Hoard of Montezuma; two Tom Mix 16 mm movies, one is 100 ft titled Using His Brains and the other is 50 ft and titled Ransomed, both in their original colorful boxes; and, finally, a mouse/brown Tom Mix style Stetson hat with wide silk hat band & leather sweat band marked “Tom Mix” from “THE MAN’S HAT SHOP / ALBUQUERQUE, N. MEX.” Also included is a metal and wood hat stand. CONDITION: Everything is generally fine. Pictures are clear with some yellowing. Book is clean with yellowed edges, but overall very fine. Hat is very clean with no evidence of mothing, showing slight wear in the sweat band, which is detached on one side. 4-57896 JR649 (2,000-3,000)
