UNSIGNED (19TH/20TH CENTURY) A NEW ORLEANS BUSINESS MEETING. Interesting interior scene oil on board shows a dapper dressed African American seated at a table reading the New Orleans Daily. Across the table is an elderly African American with two others. Three other man have stepped through the post office door to join the conversation. The room has two ship broadsides on the wall along with two pictures and a long gun. The table is set with picture, glass, ink bottle, clay pipe, book and a document stating “Colored emigrants sign here”. Housed in a Victorian walnut frame with gilt liner. SIZE: 13-1/2″ x 10″.
