*MARLIN MODEL 100-S TOM MIX SPECIAL SINGLE SHOT RIFLE. Cal. .22. NSN. Standard rifle with 24-1/4″ tapered round bbl., dovetail front sight with hood, slot blank in the rear seat, and a target sight mounted on the left rear side of the receiver. The bbl has standard markings and is drilled and tapped for scope bases. It is mounted in a 1-pc stock with smooth steel butt plate and sheet metal trigger guard with sling swivels containing a Marlin marked leather sling. This is the rifle promoted by Tom Mix in the ’30’s along with the Marlin Firearms Company to promote gun handling safety for America’s youth for which Tom Mix was presented an engraved and gold-inlaid Marlin Model 90 over/under shotgun being sold elsewhere in this auction. CONDITION: Good to very good. Metal is mostly a blue/brown patina, slightly thinned over the chamber area. Stock has been cleaned to light-colored wood.
