*RARE WINCHESTER MODEL 21 GRADE 3 WITH GOLD AND VENT RIB. SN 30221. Cal. 12ga, 28″ bbls, matted, tapered vent rib, with red Bradley front and ivory center sighting beads, MOD/FULL choke, 2-3/4″ chambers, ejectors and single selective trigger. Side of left bbl is marked “MODEL 21-WINCHESTER / TRADEMARK-12 GAUGE 2-3/4″. The step side receiver is engraved with a gold duck landing into a lake scene on left side, a gold rooster pheasant rising from a brushy scene on right, setter on point on trigger plate with wagon wheel around screw, the 2 gold birds are done in raised gold. Mounted with nicely figured walnut, hard rubber grip cap, Winchester, solid red recoil pad, and checkered beavertail forend. Bore diameter: left -.731, right -.730. Bore restrictions: left -.025, right -.012. Wall thickness: left -.026, right -.024. Drop at heel:2-1/4″ , drop at comb:1-5/8″ . Weight: 7lbs. 11oz. LOP 14-1/4”. Accompanied with Cody Firearms Museum Winchester letter as field grade 12ga 28″ bbls, right modified, left FULL choke, single trigger, pistol grip (special dimensions) with field finish, Bradley red bead front sight, Lyman ivory rear sight, #3 engraving, 2 gold inlays, 14-3/4″ pull, 2″ pitch, 2-5/16″ drop at heel, 1-9/16″ drop at comb, began final inspection on September 19, 1955, completed final inspection October 12, 1955. Returned and repaired on June 16, 1966; gun doubles when set for 2 bbls. Returned and repaired on March 25, 1968 dents in both bbls; resoder top rib to bbls; resoder bottom rib; install Winchester solid recoil pad; refinish stock, forend and balance of metal parts. CONDITION: Fine. Bbls retain 90+% of its factory restored finish, minor wear at muzzle, minor thinning in chamber area, normal nicks & scratches and rub mark from forend. Bbl flats and sides of lug are jeweled. Receiver retains 95% factory restored finish showing slightly bright on sharp edges & high spots. Water table and standing breech are jeweled. Stock is sound with sharp re-cut checkering, some minor nicks & handling marks, 2 tiny chips on left side and retains a restored oil finish. Forend is sound with sharp re-cut checkering, a few minor handling marks and retains most of its restored finish blending with some hand-worn patina across bottom. Mechanics are crisp with automatic safety, strong ejectors and nice bores. Model 21s with raised gold are quite rare. 4-40247 BDT82 (8,000-12,000)
