* EARLY COLT MODEL 1911 MILITARY PISTOL. Cal. 45 ACP. SN 6260. Fine early 1911 with blue finish, 5” bbl, with the last patent date on the slide “1911”. It has original narrow front sight and rnd top rear sight with diamond checkered walnut grips. The serial number is on the right forward side of the frame. It appears that the magazine release pin has been slotted for a screwdriver; otherwise it appears that all of the pieces & parts are original to this pistol, except the bbl which is a later High Standard replacement. It has an early 2-tone lanyard loop magazine. CONDITION: Fine. Slide retains about 90% original finish, thin and turning plum. Frame retains about 95% original finish, bright in sheltered areas with the grip frame turned plum brown. Grips are sound and show moderate to heavy wear. Magazine is dark but fine Bright shiny bore. 4-51177 JR967 (750-1,250)
