17″ FRENCH FASHION DOLL. Bisque swivel head on separate bisque shoulder plate both incised “4”, most likely an early F.G. with pale blue glass eyes, pierced ears and closed mouth with well highlighted lower lip. She is on a leather body with antique German bisque lower arms. The lower part of the body has been recovered in a sateen material. She has been redressed in an ivory silk one piece floor length dress with simulated bustle-like effect in back and wears a matching silk bonnet with velvet ribbons over a pale brown antique mohair wig. She also has pale green leather fashion boots, old but probably slightly newer than the doll. She carries in her right hand a celluloid fan with blue ribbon inserts. SIZE: 17″ (43cm).
