STEVENS POPE IDEAL RANGE MODEL 45 SINGLE SHOT TARGET RIFLE. Cal. 32-40. SN 10919. Beautiful rifle with 28” heavy oct to rnd bbl, globe front sight, no rear seat and a mid-range windage vernier tang sight. The bbl is mounted with scope blocks, which contain a Lyman #438 field target scope. The wood is very nicely grained American walnut with combination checkered forearm and straight heavy stock with Swiss buttplate. The forearm and wrist panels have coarse checkering with diamond patterns having a finer line checkering inside. The bbl is Pope rifled with left hand twist, however no Pope markings are underneath the forearm. The front of the receiver, under the forearm and the bottom tang are both stamped “45”. CONDITION: Extraordinarily fine, near new, retaining virtually all of its fine original factory finish to both metal and wood with some discolored spots on the buttstock. Case colors are brilliant, even on the buttplate. Lever and hammer case colors are dark. Mechanics are crisp with a brilliant shiny bore. 4-52786 JR454 (5,000-10,000)
