*VERY FINE R. G. OWEN SIDELOCK EJECTOR SINGLE TRIGGER GAME GUN WITH TWO SETS OF BARRELS AND CASE. SN 5530. Cal. 12 Ga. 2-1/2″ and 2-3/4″ Chambers. 26-1/2″ and 28″ Chopper lump barrels with narrow game ribs and hidden third fasteners, are engraved “Owen. Seuquoit.” on ribs, with 1-3/4″ triangles of finely executed closed scroll at breeches with matching 3/4″ triangles of scroll at muzzles. Bottoms of 26-1/2″ bbls are stamped “Vickers A Steel”. Bbl flats have Birmingham nitro proofs, and are stamped “2-5/8″ 28” Barrels are stamped on bottoms “Krupp Laufstahl” with German nitro proofs for 2-3/4″ chambers, with proof date of 7/34. Case hardened sidelock action features Purdey type hidden third fastener, automatic safety and non-selective single trigger. Action has finely filed fillets and beads, as well as arcaded fences in Woodward style. Action and lockplates have 90% coverage of finely executed English style bouquet and scroll engraving. “Owen” is on both lockplates. Trigger guard is scroll engraved with initials “R. W. C.” in relief on center of bow, and SN in relief on grip. Nicely mottled and slightly fiddleback figured French walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14″ over scroll engraved skeleton buttplate. There is a gold oval on toe line with shaded initials “R.W.C.” engraved. Stock also features very nicely cut 22 LPI checkering with line border, and drop points. Splinter forend has point pattern checkering with mullered borders, and an Anson release. 26-1/2″ Bbls measure: Bore diameter: left -.734, right -.732. Bore restrictions: left -.006, right -.004. Wall thickness: left -.030, right -.031. Drop at heel: 1-15/16″, drop at comb: 1-1/4″. Weight: 6 lbs. 12.5 oz, LOP 14″. 28″ Bbls measure: Bore diameter: left -.730, right -.737. Bore restrictions: left -.023, right -.016. Wall thickness: left -.036, right -.029. Drop at heel: 1-5/16″, drop at comb: 1-1/4″. Weight: 6 lbs. 13 oz. High quality custom oak and leather case has brass corners, and canvas outer cover. Interior is lined in dark bluish green cloth, with many covered compartments, which contain: 2-pc AGP marked cleaning rod, snap caps, and chamber brush, 2 turn screws, one horn handled and the other ebony marked “England”, leather wallet containing cleaning patches, Parker Hale oil bottle, and assorted cleaning mops and brushes. CONDITION: Excellent. Bbls retain virtually all of a lustrous London quality black. Action retains 40-50% original case color, silvering on bottom and high points. Lockplates retain 80% case color. Trigger plate and trigger retain virtually all of their case color. Top lever and trigger guard retain virtually all of their bright blue. Stocks are very fine with only a few light marks from handling. Action is tight. Right bbl of 28″ set is slightly off face. Single trigger works and ejector is in time. Case is very fine with a few minor scuffs. Outer cover is fine. Interior is fine, as are accessories. 4-39181 MGM16 (22,500-32,500)
